Direct Letter
Dear leaders,
This letter is for you, and for the ones who are working with you.
Here is a list of “just because, doesn’t mean” for easy clarification and quick answers:
Just because I am intelligent, doesn’t mean I am a spy.
Just because I am single, doesn’t mean I accept an affair with a married man.
Just because I am a muslim, doesn’t mean I am suppressed.
Just because I don’t name abusers, doesn’t mean I don’t know.
Just because I don’t fight based on your definition, doesn’t mean I lost.
Just because I’m a Ghazzawi, doesn’t mean I am from Gaza.
Just because I am not a republican, doesn’t mean I am democratic or liberalist.
People need to start speaking to each other with intent, instead of making indirect comments or belittling jokes and violations of privacy to consciously affect people’s lives; personally and professionally. Such biased behaviors especially towards minorities proofs who’s fit to be a leader and who isn’t.
For the ones who are not leaders, I apologize in advance for reading this letter. However, I am not that special, this can happen to you too! As a general rule, becoming more cautious nowadays is always advisable than we normally would have. We are living in strange times as humans and AI have the capacity to create and manipulate digital footage or out-of-context content to fit narrow minded narratives, rumors or pr campaigns can do similar damage.
There are other topics of importance that seemed to fall short inside the abusers’ minds; such as climate change, over-consumption, healthy habits, and so on. So what’s the point?
If this is not a sign to start uniting, I don’t know what is.
Whys Woman,
Direct Letter
