The Golden Rule
There’s a book of power, quite the tool,
Forty-eight laws that some call cool;
Mario Puzo’s line, a classic yule:
Keep your foes close — that’s the ruthless school.
Yet different stands for The Golden Rule,
Treat others kind, don’t act the fool;
As an athlete once, I loved the mule,
But saw no enemies, so kept my whirlpool.
Cambridge says a coward’s cruel,
Easily scared, avoiding duel;
Some argue life makes caution fuel,
Facing danger’s no simple drool.
Or cowards send unsigned letters ghoul,
Cowardice hiding behind the spool;
So Ethics 101 reminds me of the boule,
Treat others better, that’s the jewel.
Go the extra mile though it’s no snool,
Do right when wrong seems nature’s misrule;
Keep your word though pain may ferule,
That’s when the rarest, truest lesson becomes Atul.
Whys Woman,
The Golden Rule
