The Old World

Watch this tale of faith unfurled,
How Muslims shaped America’s world;
Long before Columbus whirled,
Their stories into history swirled.

The Statue of Liberty, proudly evoked,
Modeled on a woman of Muslim field;
Hidden truths in pages curled,
Echo voices that historically evolved.

Some historians have flags unfurled,
Claiming Chinese Muslims crossed the board;
Yet fear of truth too tightly curled,
Left discoveries lost, the not yet freed.

Age of exploration’s banner twirled,
Once embraced opinions, freely hurled;
Minorities’ ways, by climate furled,
Spoke of old meeting New snowed.

To heal the rifts that war has nursed,
We need negotiators’ morals pearled;
Support their work, let peace steer the curled.
For hope to bloom across our supposedly New World.

Whys Woman,
The Old World
